1. Introduction & Overview

Lilliput Software (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy informs you about how we handle your data when you use the RaceTracker application (racetracker.vektur.app), your privacy rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, and how the law protects you.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

2. The Data We Collect

We collect and process personal data strictly necessary to provide the tracking, debriefing, and race playback features:

• Account & Identity Data: Full name, email address, and mobile phone number of registered users.
• Crew & Boat Association Data: Boat name, sail number, fleet/class, and the names or association details of crew members that you submit or link to a boat.

Uploaded GPS & Telemetry Data

• The App does not record or track your live background or foreground device GPS location while using the App.
• We store tracking data that you voluntarily upload or import from external devices after taking part in sailing races (e.g., GPX, FIT, or CSV tracks).
• This data is typically restricted to a short period before the start of the race and shortly after the finish.

Device & Hardware Metadata

• Diagnostic device information (e.g., phone/tablet/computer OS and browser/app version used to upload or playback tracks).
• Tracking device hardware types identified in files or telemetry (e.g., GPS watches, Cycplus bike computers, Vakaros Atlas 2, Sailtech GPS Compass, and other supported marine or multi-sport loggers).

Race Commentary & AI Analytics: Aggregated fleet data, boat debrief summaries, and performance telemetry analyzed by automated tools.

3. Lawful Bases for Processing (UK GDPR Article 6)

Under the UK GDPR, we process your personal information under the following legal bases:

• Performance of a Contract: To create your user profile, authenticate your account, process uploaded race tracks, and render race player replays.
• Legitimate Interests: To maintain, secure, diagnose, and improve the App’s performance, prevent abuse, and allow clubs and associations to manage regatta debriefs.
• Consent: Where you choose to share race replays or connect third-party accounts (such as Vakaros / RaceSense) to import telemetry.

4. How Your Data Is Shared and Made Public

• Public and Club Visibility: Race replays, leaderboards, and AI-generated debriefs may be shared publicly or within your club/class by you, club administrators, class administrators, or Lilliput Software. Public replays may display your name, boat name, sail number, and track, but will NEVER publicly display your email address or mobile phone number.

Third-Party Service Providers (Data Processors)

We work with trusted infrastructure and service providers:

• Hosting & Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform / Firebase (data storage, database, authentication).
• Communication: Google Workspace (support communications).
• Cartography & Environmental Feeds: Carto, OpenStreetMap, OpenSeaMap, Tidey.app, and official club/public weather feeds.
• Telemetry Integrations: Vakaros / RaceSense (for direct telemetry and mark data import, where authorized).
• AI Race Analysis: Anthropic Claude API (used to generate automated Fleet Overviews and Boat Debriefs from anonymized or boat-specific race metrics).

International Transfers: Where data is processed outside the UK/EEA (such as through Google Cloud or Anthropic servers), we ensure adequate safeguards are in place, such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) or standard contractual clauses approved by the UK ICO.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account details and uploaded tracks for as long as your account remains active or as needed to maintain historic regatta archives for clubs and associations. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at Support@lilliputsoftware.com.

6. Your Legal Rights (UK ICO Standards)

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Rectification: You can request corrections to incomplete or inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request the deletion of your account and personal data.
• Right to Restrict or Object to Processing: You can object to our processing of your data under legitimate interests.

7. Children's Privacy

While there are no strict age barriers for general participation in sailing, our services are not aimed directly at unsupervised children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has submitted personal details without consent, please contact us at Support@lilliputsoftware.com, and we will promptly delete the data.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App following changes constitutes your acceptance.
